NATIONAL SALES MANAGER

Position Summary:
The National Sales Manager (NSM) will lead the entire Sales and Marketing efforts for Mountain Lumber Company.  The NSM will be responsible for defining and executing annual sales plans and will have budget responsibility for the functions.  The NSM will also be responsible for hiring and retaining the required sales and marketing talent.  The NSM will ensure that all leads are appropriately allocated to the sales staff and also proactively drive sales across the company's various sales channels and build the Mountain Lumber brand. The National Sales Manager should have at least ten years of experience in building and managing sales activities and building brands; industry experience is not a prerequisite though direct selling of high end consumer goods is valued.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Retention, hiring, and development of staff for all sales, marketing and sample shop activities including: compensation, incentive structures, individual development plans, regular performance analyses and ongoing feedback for employees
  • Extensive travel throughout the US to oversee sales operations, develop key relationships, attend trade shows and help develop new customer segments
  • Successfully build long-term relationships with industry professionals  
  • Development and continuous improvement of the company's "Sales Process;" systems and policies should be expanded to ensure that all customer requests, follow-ups, leads and other correspondence are as effective as possible
  • Certification and subsequent presentation of AIA topics to architects as a means of promoting Mountain Lumber and its products
  • Initial investment in training to understand the company's unique product offerings and manufacturing processes    
  • Strong interpersonal and selling skills plus highly entrepreneurial mindset – the NSM will become a vital engine for the company's growth in current and future channels and geographies
  • It is the function of the NSM to inspire, motivate and encourage individuals and their sales teams to achieve all company goals and objectives, while promoting an atmosphere of high moral character and professionalism

NORTHERN VIRGINIA SALES MANAGER

Position Summary:
The Northern Virginia Sales Manager will join the existing sales team with a focus on selling within the Metro DC areas. The Sales Manager will benefit from leads provided by the company as well as be responsible for prospecting with a focus on the professional architect, custom home builder, and (interior) designer markets. The expectation is that the Sales Manager will build a regional sales team around them as soon as the local sales will help support this additional growth initiative.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete an initial training program to understand the company's unique product offerings and manufacturing processes
  • Build long-term relationships with industry professionals – leveraging existing relationships and building new ones
  • Attend industry trade shows on an as-needed basis or as he/ she deems necessary
  • Follow all selling and follow-up procedures to help track and ultimately close sales; selling efforts will be tracked by the company's CRM software

Role Specifics:

  • Strong interpersonal and telephone skills are required
  • Highly entrepreneurial mindset – this Manager will essentially build and run the company's operations in Northern Virginia
  • Energetic, motivated, and with a desire to learn and become a product educator
  • No wood or flooring experience is required, though direct selling of high end consumer goods is valuable
  • Sales primarily to high-net-worth individuals as well as professionals (architects, custom home builders, designers)
  • Strong computer skills required: MS Office, proprietary CRM, internet research
