Shipping and Delivery

Over the past thirty years we have found that it helps to be very specific with regards to shipping and delivery. Here is a brief summary of our policies and practices; hopefully this will give you a feel for the process. We will provide a much more detailed version of the shipping details, for your review, when you place your order.

We know that receiving your floor when you need it is critical, so we've created a process that helps us understand your needs and insures that your delivery goes smoothly.

  1.  Locking in your price:
    • We guarantee our quoted prices for thirty days after the proposal. A 50% deposit will lock in the price for six months. 100% payment will lock in the price for at least twelve months, and sometimes longer depending on your situation.
  2. Ordering, deposits and payments:
    • Once we receive a signed proposal, a 50% deposit will put the order into our production schedule. The outstanding balance is to be paid in full prior to shipment.
  3. Shipping dates:
    • We will help you to coordinate your ship date and can recommend and work with the carrier to ensure that the flooring makes it to you when you need it.
    • We can store your completed order for a short period of time, but will have to charge a restocking fee if there is a significant delay from the agreed shipment dates.
  4. Shipping and delivery:
    • Again, we will work with you to determine the best means of shipping the flooring to you and can easily recommend a number of freight carriers from whom you can choose.
    • It will be important to give some thought to where the flooring will physically go upon delivery; for example:
      1. Make sure there is an area in the home or storage area that is suitable to receive the flooring. We recommend that all HVAC controls are in full operation and that all "wet work" has been completed in any storage area.
      2. Ensure that there are people on hand to unload the flooring (Carriers don't tend to want to handle the freight!)
      3. Any obstacles at the point of delivery should be removed or discussed with the carrier.  A large truck should be able to gain access to the site and turn around.
    • Be sure to physically inspect your order upon its arrival and cite any damage on the bill-of-lading; damages caused from the shipment are the responsibility of the freight company. If the damages are extensive, refuse delivery and call us; while we've found this very rare, we can work with you to expedite additional replacement boards and facilitate conversations with the freight company.

Call us any time to discuss your project, our products, or how we can work together to create a beautiful floor.
