Since its opening in Summer 2003 the South Street Seaport Museum's expansion and renovation has drawn thousands of additional visitors to Lower Manhattan.
Highlighting the history of the port in the early 19th and 20th centuries, the maritime museum will be able to tell the story of commerce and culture in 30,000 square feet of new exhibit and program space.
Mountain Lumber worked closely with the New York architectural firm of Beyer, Blinder & Belle to select Heart Pine flooring typical of the era depicted in the museum's historical exhibit.
The 3"-5" Select Prime and 3"-7" Naily Grade Historic Heart Pine® used in this project was reclaimed from sites slated for demolition, including:
The Boston Wharf Company - Boston, Massachusetts
Southland Electrical Company - Louisville, Kentucky
Davenport Car Works - Cambridge, Massachusetts
Spartan Textile Mills - Spartanburg, South Carolina
