Ruckersville, Virginia—- February 4, 2009—- The management of Mountain Lumber Company announced this week the appointment of William Stone as the organization’s CEO. Mr. Stone is responsible for the operations and management of Mountain Lumber, a Ruckersville-based company founded in 1974 (http://www.mountainlumber.com) . Mountain Lumber is the nation’s premier manufacturer of antique reclaimed wood flooring and related building products. Mr. Stone replaces the organization’s founder, Willie Drake, as the company’s CEO. Mr. Drake will continue his involvement with the company, primarily to travel the world in search of irreplaceable ancient wood to reclaim and restore into what is now considered the finest antique flooring in the world.
Before joining Mountain Lumber, Mr. Stone purchased and continues to own Emergency Rental and Supply, an equipment rental business, with operations from Virginia to Boston. His other recent positions include Assistant VP, Strategic Planning for CarMax, Inc. in Richmond and Case Team Leader for Bain and Company in Boston. Mr. Stone earned an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy.
Mountain Lumber Company was founded in 1974 and pioneered the art of restoring reclaimed heart pine, oak, and chestnut from centuries-old factories, mills, barns, and even breweries around the world.
