Reclaimed Wood Flooring

For over forty years Mountain Lumber has traveled the globe in search of beautiful, antique wood found in historic structures, such as barns and mills, to reclaim for new purposes. Our reclaimed wood flooring has a rich patina that is unmatched by newly-sawn lumber.

The History of Our Reclaimed Wood Flooring

Many of our wood flooring species are simply not available today. Our heart-pine comes from centuries old beams that were cut from Longleaf Pine, a tree that once covered much of the easter United States. After generations of over harvesting, this tree is virtually extinct. The tight growth rings and beautiful color, make this wood unlike any other.

Antique American Chestnut is another rare species used for reclaimed wood flooring. In the early 20th century a blight infected nearly all American Chestnut trees but the wood can still be reclaimed from barns built a century ago along Appalachia.reclaimed-antique-barn

Reclaimed Wood Flooring Features

Many of our reclaimed wood floors feature nail holes and saw marks that were made lifetimes ago. These character details add to the wood’s beauty and make every board in your reclaimed wood floor truly unique.
